Turner says Amber Spradlin witness has not been offered a deal for his testimony
PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — The prosecution in the Amber Spradlin murder case has refuted several claims made by a defense attorney in a court filing, including that a key prosecution witness was given immunity in exchange for his testimony. Commonwealth’s Attorney Brent Turner filed a response to the request on Monday, saying Roy Kidd has not been offered any deal in exchange for testifying in the case. Kidd accompanied Spradlin to Seasons Inn and later to the Arkansas Creek home of dentist Michael McKinney on June 17, 2023. Martin County man arrested for insurance fraud
TOMAHAWK, Ky. — A Martin County man is facing a felony insurance fraud charge, after he allegedly lied to police about his side-by-side being stolen. A Kentucky State Police trooper was called to the home of Larry Delong, 62, of Tomahawk, on Sunday over the alleged theft. Delong told police he had been gone fishing all weekend and that the vehicle was gone when he came back home. Nonprofit pushes to renew child care workforce in Eastern Kentucky
FRANKFORT, Ky. — A Kentucky childcare advocacy organization is using an $8 million grant to support rural childcare and early education in Appalachian Kentucky. Nearly all households in the region’s counties face childcare barriers and in 79 of the state’s 120 counties, there are not enough childcare providers to meet demand.
