LOUISA, Ky. – Nearly two dozen youth wrestlers will be state bound this Friday, and Louisa plans to send them off in style. The Lawrence County Bulldogs Youth Wrestling team will send 20 participants to the 2026 Kentucky Youth Wrestling State Tournament in Louisville this weekend. Plans to send the athletes off in style. PAINTSVILLE, Ky. — A Johnson County man was arrested early Sunday morning, after a Paintsville resident reported seeing someone breaking into his storage building. Paintsville Police were called to an address on Pine Street reporting the break-in. The caller reported seeing a man running away with his weedeater, but said he dropped it near Broadway and continued running. Police found the suspect — later identified as 19-year-old Devin Wells — at a nearby gas station and tried to talk to him, but said he ran away instead. PRESTONSBURG, Ky. – The Pikeville High School Junior Varsity boys basketball team was crowned 15th Region champs this past weekend in thrilling fashion, defeating the Pike County Central Hawks 42-41. On the way to the crown, the Panthers took down the Betsy Layne Bobcats and Phelps Hornets junior varsity squads. The Panthers were coached by Jordan Perry, Ethan Rowe, and Lukas Manns.
