RICHMOND, Va. — Recreational marijuana sales are expected to soon be legal just across the state line from Pike County, as the Virginia legislature passed a framework for retail sales on Saturday. Gov. Abigail Spanbarger has previously said she will sign the bill. Once signed, the new law will allow anyone 21 or older to buy cannabis from a licensed establishment, beginning Jan. 1. MOREHEAD, Ky. — Morehead State’s 2025-26 women’s basketball season will continue in the postseason as the Eagles have been selected as one of the at-large berths in the WNIT. Head Coach Ashton Feldhaus has led the Eagles to a postseason opportunity in her first season leading the program, and it will mark the program’s third overall appearance in the Postseason WNIT. LONDON, Ky. — A Letcher County podcaster who is suing the Jenkins school board is now without a lawyer in her case, after hers was suspended from practicing in federal courts in the Eastern District of Kentucky. Elizabeth Jones sued the school district back in January, after she received a letter from the board’s attorney telling her she was not allowed to visit any of the district’s schools or attend any district-sponsored events.
