Michael McKinney, 57, and Josh Mullins, 25, are each charged with eight counts of evidence tampering for allegedly trying to cover up the June 18, 2023, murder of Spradlin, whose body was found in McKinney’s home. WHITESBURG, Ky. — A hearing has been scheduled in the case of former Letcher County Sheriff Shawn Mickey Stines. Stines is charged with murder for shooting Letcher District Judge Kevin Mullins multiple times in his chambers on Sept. 19, 2024. The entire incident was captured on security cameras.
