Mom charged with abuse after leaving kids home alone for two days
PAINTSVILLE, Ky. — A Johnson County woman is facing child abuse charges for allegedly leaving her children home alone. Neighbors called 911 around midnight Sunday, saying there were children playing on the roof of a Washington Avenue apartment, and they had overheard them saying their mother hadn’t been home for two days. When police arrived, they found the children, who were both under the age of 12. Inside the apartment, police say they found dried feces and urine in the floor, spoiled food, expired food, trash throughout the house and dirty dishes with flies on multiple surfaces. Two more arrests made in religious desecration case
INEZ, Ky. — Two more people have been arrested for their part in the destruction of a Martin County religious display. Police say Brian Keith Robinette, 21, and Alexandra Danielle Riddle, 20, both of Wellington, were arrested last Friday, after Devin Morris, 24, of Inez, was arrested earlier in the week. All three are charged with trespassing. Morris and Robinette are also charged with willfully setting fire to land owned by others and desecration of venerated objects, while Riddle is charged with complicity to those same charges. Mingo man charged with fentanyl trafficking in Pike
MAJESTIC, Ky. — A Mingo County man who was wanted on warrants is facing even more trouble, after police found him with drugs and a gun when they went to arrest him. Just before 3 a.m., Sunday, state troopers went to a field in Majestic, where they were informed they could find 42-year-old Tyrone Davis, of Williamson, working as part of a logging crew. After hung jury, prosecutor plans to take Deskins murder case to trial again
PIKEVILLE, Ky. — One week after a jury deadlocked in the murder case against former Assistant Pike County Attorney Donald Kyle Deskins, resulting in a mistrial, the special prosecutor overseeing the case says he fully intends to take it to trial once again.
