Man wanted for running from police arrested after another police chase
SITKA, Ky. — A Johnson County man wanted after being indicted for running from police was arrested Friday morning, after leading police on a chase. A Johnson County sheriff’s deputy spotted Tylor Douglas Wagoner, 26, of Meally, riding an ATV on Route 201 just after 1:30 Friday morning. The deputy knew Wagoner to be wanted on a couple of active warrants, including one after he was indicted for fleeing police, endangering an officer and other charges. Belfry firefighter dies while responding to structure fire
BELFRY, Ky. — Belfry Volunteer Fire Department is in mourning after one of its members died while responding to a fire Wednesday evening. Firefighter Darrell Helton, 49, was helping to shuttle water while the department responded to a mutual aid call for a structure fire. According to the Supporting Heroes organization, which recognizes the sacrifices of fallen first responders, Helton reported feeling a fluttering in his chest but told colleagues he was fine. Floyd man killed in ATV crash
HUEYSVILLE, Ky. — A Floyd County man was killed and another was injured in an ATV crash early Thursday morning. The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office reports that the accident occurred around 1 a.m., Thursday, on Community Church Road, at Hueysville. Bryan Sparkman, 53, of Hueysville, was killed in the crash. Ronnie Vince Bradley was injured and taken to a local hospital. The incident remains under investigation by the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office.

Police: Man tries to avoid arrest by calling in fake shooting
PAINTSVILLE, Ky. — A man who was getting ready to go to jail for an outstanding warrant early Thursday morning allegedly made matters worse for himself by calling in a false report. A Paintsville Police officer spotted two men riding bicycles without lights on Broadway around 2:30 a.m. Thursday and stopped to check on them.
