Ben FieldsLONDON, Ky. — A last-minute settlement has been reached in a lawsuit against a former Letcher County deputy, filed by a woman who had accused him of demanding sex in exchange for favorable treatment. The case involves Ben Fields, who pleaded guilty in state court to sex crimes while supervising women on home incarceration. Plaintiff Sabrina Adkins had claimed Fields coerced her into a sexual relationship by threatening her freedom if she didn’t comply. Former Grundy postal worker to plead guilty to stealing mail

ABINGDON, Va. — A former Grundy mail carrier is expected to plead guilty this week to stealing mail. Norman Vincent Arrington is expected to plead guilty to theft of mail by a postal employee and opening, destroying and detaining mail without authority. According to a factual basis signed by Arrington and filed in the case, he delivered mail along Rural Route 2, when he opened two pieces of mail on April 15, 2024, and stole two Walmart gift cards that they contained. Four arrested after fight at Warfield Elementary

WARFIELD, Ky. — Four people were arrested and an elementary school was placed on a “soft lockdown” Monday, following a fight among adults outside of the school. It happened outside of Warfield Elementary, in Martin County, where the Martin County School Police Department was called to a report of a fight in the parking lot. Gage Reed, 25, of Debord, and Ronald Reed, 29, of Sitka, told police told police that the incident began with an altercation with 21-year-old Caleb Costa, of Warfield, at McDonald’s in Inez.
